Overview

Overview

The Victory Gasifier Gas on Demand system honors 150 years of gasifier design. One of the most useful tools ever invented, gasifiers unlock new potential for clean heat, electricity, mobility and even sustainable liquid fuels.

Heritage

From the first gas producers that powered the early industrial revolution next to steam; to the WWII designs that powered a continent starved of fuel. 1 million strong, fueling every day lives, (but not conveniently). And to the work in Northern Europe that continued on after the second great war.

Those early pioneers laid a path for petroleum free living. We picked up the shovel and the stones and continued that path into a bold new future with: space age materials, automation and cutting edge design born from a blood lust for perfection.

The Victory Gasifier is a mobile refinery with heat cogeneration.

The gas station that goes with you.

There are lot’s of renewable electricity options available, but very few renewable fuel options.

Power a range of engines from one liter to seven liters with our easy tuning package. The Victory is used for both stationary power and truck applications. Simple modifications will allow it to power tractors as well. People actually power all sorts of crazy things with the Victory, like: heat turbines, liquid fuels reactors, kilns, forges, gensets, stationary motorcycles?, infrared heaters, etc.

To buy this package you need to be both handy and self directed.

If you need it all done with an engine, then visit the Personal Energy Grid page.

Efficient Heat

The waste heat recovery/cogeneration features provide heated air and water without  having to burn your gas, so you can use it for more important things…

Home owners now have the freedom that a gas-on-demand refinery gives them to cover their heating, electrical and hot water needs using branches from their yard, wood chips, chunked cord wood, corn cobs and other free waste biomass sources. Even certain types of waste pellets mixed with plastic can be used.

By storing energy in wood and only using it on-demand, we are able to provide a safe working environment versus a fuel storage locker (ticking time bomb).

We have removed utilities, cartels and other ‘Gate Keepers” from your life.

It’s just you and nature now.

Over the last 5 years Victory Gasworks products have set an industry standard for innovation, reliability, versatility and durability. We are working hard to reinvent the 21st century lifestyle with the benefits you have come to rely upon, but without the complexity and lack of control that erodes your time and freedom.

Common applications include: backup power generation, grid connect, emergency power insurance, off-grid power, waste disposal, heat and hot water solutions, greenhouse heating, etc.

The technology that drives the system allows us to turn plant matter into hydrocarbons. It’s not unlike the way crude oil was created, we just do it alot faster, with near zero net environmental impact.

Preferred Engines

1 liter to 7 liter engines, cast iron. Variable timing for high rpm applications. Slow speed 1800 rpm recommended for long life stationary applications. Purchase an automated air mixer from Woodward or Governors of America, or fire up the drill press and build your own. Every engine is different so expect to do a little bit of design work on your end.

Feedstock

Feedstock

Our energy systems run on dry, uniform, clean biomass. No dirt, bark, rocks, mulch or nails please. Below is a list of feedstocks that we have tried and tested. These feedstocks are excellent for a new operator.

Note: Waste rounds perform best when mixed with 15-30% plastic. We see a bright future for turning curbside trash and landscape debris into usable energy, keeping our landfills free of waste.

Other feedstocks for more advanced users include charcoal, corn cobs and coconut husks.

Do not use wet feedstock, sawdust or wood stove pellets because they can clog the machine.

2.5 pounds of wood is equal to 1 kilowatt hour of electricity. Expect to use between 60 & 100 pounds of wood per hopper fill.

FAQ

Gasifier FAQ

  1. What makes biomass capable of becoming a fuel? Answer- When biomass is heated in a low oxygen environment the plant matter releases oils, gases, charcoal, ash and water vapor. We use the heat of the charcoal to refine the gases, oils and water vapor into a hydrogen rich fuel gas, similar to natural gas. It is hot enough inside to split water vapor.
  2. Can I store the gas? Answer- Technically yes, it has been done. A biogas storage membrane is the best option for new users, but storing large volumes of gas can be both dangerous and unnecessary. Using batteries and hot water storage is safer and more convenient. Only attempt this if you have the proper technical background.
  3. Can I pump the gas into my house? Answer- No, but you can cook with it outside. Indoor gases are required to have an odor added to them for safety. Part of the gas contains carbon monoxide which burns very cleanly, but can kill you quickly in an enclosed space.
  4. How long will it run? Answer- The Victory Gasifier will run unattended for 5-8 hours on a fill. The density of the feedstock and the engine load determine true rate of use.
  5. Can I power a diesel? Answer- You can run up to 80% wood gas and operate an un-modified diesel. To run 100% woodgas you must add spark ignition.
  6. What is the difference between clean gas and dirty gas? Answer- Clean gas has been broken down to a molecular level. It’s just hydrogen and burnable carbon gases. Dirty gas has residual burned oils that didn’t get fully broken down. Virtually every competing gasifier you are likely to see will suffer from this problem. You can burn the oily gas, but the burned oils, called tar, will stick on valves and cause them to stop functioning when used in engines. It is very important that you understand this. Our systems produce no tar when used as directed. This gives your engine longer life and you piece of mind. There are many people on the internet making wild claims about their machines and really they are tar machines. Hope you don’t have to find out the hard way.
  7. What is the maintenance process? Answer- Empty the ash bin twice a week. Empty the water condensate after 8 hours use. Change the dry filter system after 8 hours use. Total maintenance time is less than 4 minutes per day.
  8. What does 5-15 kw mean? Answer- The system can be tuned for various power ranges for optimal output. Kit includes tuning system, so you can dial in the optimal performance.
